What’s happening now at The Goins Group.

It’s Back to School Time! Meet our kids!

Back-to-School1

It’s Back to School Time!!

So often we talk about work, real estate and making money and fail to mention the people that mean the absolute most to us. Our families and all the people that make up what that means to us. Sometimes that means your blood relation, sometimes that means work family and sometimes it just means a very strong friendship.

With fall right around the corner, kids have either started back to school already or will be over the next few weeks. I just wanted to take a few minutes and introduce you to the kids of all of our staff members! A special little look behind the scenes of The Goins Group.

Larry & Pam’s son, Noah, is entering 7th grade this year. Gosh time passes much too quickly! When I came to work here at the Goins Group, Noah was just a little fellow!

Noah

Senior Education Adviser, Ron Devine, shares that his daughter Faith is entering the 3rd grade this year. Faith is such a sweetheart. She can come into the office and I don’t even know she’s here unless I happen to pass through Ron’s office. So well behaved and sweet mannered.

Faith

Junior Education Advisor, Angelique Girard, shares that her daughter, Juliet, will be starting Aveda’s Esthtetician School and Ava is entering the 3rd grade this year. I haven’t met Juliet and Ava yet because Angelique is new to the family but I hope I get to very soon!

Juliet & Ava

Senior Education Adviser, Cortney King, shares that her daughter Kaitlin is entering the 1st grade this year. Kaitlin is such a cutie and a little fashion diva. Kaitlin can put together outfits like nobody’s business, complete with accessories!

Junior Education Advisor, Deirdre Baker, shares that her sassy little Naavah, is entering kindergarten this year.

And last, but certainly not least, Nathan Amaral, Head Coach, tells me that even though his oldest daughter, Brooklyn, has her makeup all ready to go for school, she isn’t “quite” ready yet.

I hope you have enjoyed this little behind the scenes post. We are all family here and we consider you a part of it. We love our kiddos!

Who is Larry Goins? An Insider’s Perspective

You might have wondered who is the real Larry Goins? Not the Larry Goins that speaks from the stage on Real Estate Investing but the REAL Larry Goins. The man that family and co-workers see on a daily basis.

As Larry’s right hand “man” for most of the last 12 years, I thought I knew him pretty well until a few weeks ago. What happened a few weeks ago? Well, I detached myself from my job and became the student. I immersed myself in one of our Inner Circle programs and went through the entire week as a full on student. I gotta say….it was surprisingly enlightening. I saw for the first time through a different set of eyes. I saw his passion for teaching in all its glory.

It got me thinking. How did I miss this for so long? How do others here in the office see him? Had I been so immersed in the day to day business “to do” lists that I failed to see what he was actually contributing to the world? Had I really gotten caught up in the minutia of running a business that I had lost sight of things and the people around me?

I really wanted to see how Larry, as a person, was perceived by both old and new employees alike and my newfound impression held true.

Here are some quotes from staff, both old and new, in their own words when asked…How do you see Larry Goins both in the workplace and as a leader?

Andrew Kinne, Education Consultant, wrote: He is a great person who’s gone above and beyond the call of duty!

Daniel Boissonneault, Marketing Specialist, wrote: Larry, in my eyes, is a leader, entrepreneur, goal getter, and family man. He always has an answer to the questions before you ask them. Motivation is just the start when you meet Larry.

Dean West, Advanced Education Consultant, wrote: Larry is a man who is sincerely concerned about the well-being of his students and their passion to be successful in their investing of real estate. A man who is willing to share his knowledge of real estate to help others improve the quality of their lives.

Nathan Amaral, Head Coach, wrote: The Man, The Legend And The Myth. PS-Willing to listen, searches for answers and considers how others feel.

Cicely Mack, Accounting Manager, wrote: Larry always shows gratitude which helps develop a strong sense of self-worth that often outweighs the typical pat on the back. He also encourages interaction within our team so that we succeed or fail together.

Cortney King, Advanced Education Consultant, wrote: Larry is the bomb.com! Hands down the best CEO I’ve ever worked for. I love the way he interacts with everyone. In other companies when do you ever get to cut up with the CEO??? I can’t think of any 🙂 He inspires me to be a better person and hands down a better employee! Larry has made this company a place you can come, make money, laugh ALOT, meet new people, and have a great non-stressful workplace!

James Rushing, Education Consultant, wrote: To me, Larry is a man of God and of family … He is a true leader … and cares about the people around him.

Deirdre Baker, Education Consultant, wrote: Larry is an enthusiastic and inspirational leader who not only tells you how to succeed but leads by daily example. Thanks, Larry!

Jim Adair, Education Consultant, wrote: I haven’t known Larry long professionally but what I see is a dedicated man of Faith, Family and eager to share. I have on the other hand known Larry personally for a long while and guess what, he is that same guy….authentic which is rare.

And last, but certainly not least, is Ron Devine, Advanced Education Consultant who wrote: Larry is the guy next door, extremely humble, a heart with no boundaries. Always looking to improve the lives of everyone he comes in contact with.

Hmmm….I think it’s pretty unanimous. Larry is an all around great guy and what you see at events and on stage is the same, exact man we see here at the office. Every. Single. Day. That’s right. Larry Goins comes into the office and mingles with us all on a daily basis, usually being the very last one to leave at the end of each day. You might be wondering, why would a man of his caliber and knowledge and “famousness” (yes, I know that’s not a real word), work in an office like a common staff member. The answer is simple. He IS one of us and he lives and breathes every single thing he teaches.

Isn’t that the type of mentor you want to hitch your wagon too?

Rodney's First Deal

Normally, I like to give some explanation for the testimonials that we post.  But this one is pretty self-explanatory.  Rodney Seiwert has been with us for only a few weeks.  But in that time, he’s accomplished some pretty awesome things.  His first deal was a big one.  And he was able to make that first deal because of the techniques that I teach.  I’ll let him explain the details.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxHKjLsRJrA

So what did you think?  After only being here around a month he was able to make a killer deal.  And the best part?  You can accomplish the same thing.  All it takes is some focus, hard work, and following the techniques that I lay out in my curriculum.  There’s no magic button, no shortcut.  Just simplified methods and hard work.  But you can do it!  I’ve seen countless people change their lives with these methods.  So don’t miss out on your opportunity.

Inner Circle Bus Tour

I love when we have Inner Circle students in the office.  These folks come in, excited and ready to learn.  And that energy is infectious!  The office is always hyped, people are smiling and laughing, and we often find ourselves pushing to do even better!  Maybe we want to show off a bit, but its a great time, and we make some incredible deals in these periods.

Our students get the opportunity to learn from the best while they are here, and one of the best ways to learn is to get hands on.  That’s why we do the Bus Tour.  This has been a staple of the Inner Circle experience since the beginning.  Wendy, a few folks from the office, and myself, take the students out to some houses that are in various states of contract, rehab, or sale.  We do this so that they can see firsthand what they need to be looking for in various deals, and what they can do to make better decisions in their Real Estate Investing.

This trip was a unique one.  We stayed in the Charlotte area and saw several houses in various states of repair.  Or disrepair, depending on your view.  I made sure to bring along Jordan, our Content Creator, so that we could properly document this unique hands-on learning experience.

If you like these pictures, make sure to check out my Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.  We post pictures and videos weekly, plus inside tips on how to jump start your Real Estate Investing.

Cleveland, Day 2

Day two of my 3 Day Training in Cleveland has just been phenomenal.  I woke up feeling excited.  I was determined that today was gonna be awesome.  And it was.

We started out with a Q&A session.  These are always interesting.  I never know what I’m going to encounter in these sessions, and occasionally I get stumped.  But not today.  I was on point.  Quickfire responses to some new and difficult questions.

Then I had Jordan, my Social Media Director, come up and give a short presentation on why social media is important.  That was a slam dunk.  He’s been doing things and building a following in ways I couldn’t imagine.  If you’re not using social media, you’re missing out on over a billion people that you could reach.

I plowed through Asset Protection.  This is an extremely important part of Real Estate Investment, and unfortunately it gets overlooked.  But if you aren’t familiar with this kind of protection, you could really lose your shirt.

And then came the Role Play.  This is one of my favorite times at these training events.  There are few things that will stick quite as well as learning hands on.  Once you’ve been in the middle of a situation where you have to think on your feet, you’ll want to come up with go-to answers for multiple scenarios.  And watching my students really go all in with these scenarios is fantastic.  It lets me know that they understand what they need to do, and that they’re gonna go all in.

But like every person, I have my limitations.  Its difficult to be pulled by a large number of people for hours on end.  But I had to rally.  There was another reason why I was excited to travel to Cleveland.  The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

For those that don’t know, I’m an avid guitar player.  I own several guitars and amps, and I play regularly.  In the 80’s, I was in a band called Street Legal.  C’mon, you know that’s an awesome name.

After the last session, I hopped in a cab and made my way downtown.  I was ready to see some awesome rock memorabilia, but I found something I wasn’t expecting.

Cleveland is a city that was hit hard after the last bubble burst.  But this is a city on the rise.  Everywhere I looked, I saw buildings being renovated, new attractions and architecture being constructed, and a thriving downtown area with a unique vibe down each street.  This a city that won’t quit.

This inspired me.  Looking at a city that decided, despite the circumstances, to not only soldier on, but to thrive.  If people are taking the initiative here, you have no excuse.  Make the decision to succeed.  Make the decision to not give up.  Make the decision to achieve your goals, and don’t let your situation get in the way.  There is always an option for people who are willing to do the work.

Pat on the back Afternoons Some one on one

Cleveland, Day 1

I always love going to new places.  There’s an intangible excitement that comes from being in a foreign environment.  Its one of the many reasons why I speak at as many events as I can.  So when we decided to go to Cleveland earlier this year, I jumped at the opportunity.

People who travel for a living understand that something will always go wrong.  And there were more than a few hiccups on our first day.  My lavalier mic broke.  For anyone who has seen me speak, you know I use my hands a lot!  So having to use a handheld mic was not a great start.

Then Liz, my Event Coordinator, let me know that the suitcase that contained all of our courses and paperwork was lost.  Quite literally, lost.  As of this post, I have no idea where this thing is.  I’m really hoping it shows up soon.

But for some reason, at least for myself, when things go wrong they also go right.  My students in the Cleveland area have been awesome!  They came in this morning and revitalized my attitude.  This group loves to speak out and ask questions. And man, they have had some great questions.  Its always amazing to me how sometimes I can leave my own event learning something new.

So my first day in Cleveland was a bit of a rollercoaster.  But why not enjoy the ride?

Creative Genius

Here are some pictures of our very own Wendy and Gaby out in San Diego at the Creative Genius Conference. They’re speaking on how to use a General Contractor when doing Real Estate Rehab. I won’t give away the presentation, but this is something that you NEED to hear if you’re doing Rehab. It can save you countless dollars every year, as well as time, and a lot of stress. In addition to that, they’re also talking about how we use direct mail. This can be a great way to find properties that are outside of your normal buying region, and can help turn up some unexpected gems. There are a lot of different methods to direct mail, and just as many pitfalls. The information these ladies are going over is crucial to taking advantage, as well as avoiding problems, associated with both of these topics. For more info on this, and other topics, always stay tuned to LarryGoins.com
