Are you in over your head?

This student stumped me…

Recently, I finished speaking to a room of Real Estate Investors. Normally, I have a few investors that come up to me asking for additional questions and I share with them answers and tips on how to build their Real Estate business with the strategies that I teach.

But this time was completely different…

I didn’t know how to respond at first because of her tone of voice, I was taken back…

Mary (I changed her name to protect her privacy) stormed to the front of the room, coming towards me with her eyes locked on mine. I knew she had something important to say or she was just mad about something…

“I want to stop learning and start earning!”

I was lost for words.

Not sure what to say I replied, “How do you mean?”

She continued to pour her heart out…how tired she was, staying up late every night to watch videos and listen to trainings…you can tell she was way over her head trying to learn everything from everybody. She was spinning her wheels and on information overload! Mixing one strategy into another. She was confused.

“Where do I begin?” She asked me.

It’s in these moments that I would normally throw out a funny joke to lighten the mood but I knew this woman, who I just met a few minutes earlier, wouldn’t understand my humor right away…so I continued to ask her about her current situation and about what she was trying to accomplish.

I listened.

After she poured out her questions, I gave her a step by step way to help her achieve her goals and I will share these same tips with you here in just a minute.

Today, there is so much education available out there at your finger tips. With the power of the internet, there are more people online sharing how to do this or that with just a few simple steps. But the truth is, which most people find out later, is that it’s not that easy. It takes work and it can be hard at times. Sometimes your will is the only thing that will pull you through, so you will need a strong one.

Listen, I’m not going to say that I have all the answers, because I don’t. What I can tell you is that I have created a fool-proof strategy that a high school kid can use. I say that because I only finished high school and have made millions of dollars using my strategy and have helped others make a lot of money too. There is no doubt in my mind that by using my strategies and following the checklist, step by step, that you can’t help becoming successful.

You know, most of the time I think we over complicate things. Most of the time we think that things are supposed to be harder than they seem. Well, have you ever heard it’s better to work smarter than harder? That’s what I enjoy and that’s the same thing I shared with “Mary” that came up to me asking how to get started.

Sharing the same strategy with you here: http://www.filthyriches.com/

I want you to become as free as you want to be. It’s up to you!

A few weeks after Mary got her copy of my Filthy Riches System she followed the simple step-by-step checklist, she made offers, got one accepted and closed on her first deal, all within 42 days!

This same system that Mary used to get her first deal is what you can use to acquire your next deal.

Go check out this free training that I put together for you and let me know what you think:

What Can A Real Estate Investing Mentor Do For Me?

You Want Me to Mentor You?

When I was younger I used to think that having a coach or mentor was something only for athletes and the rich and famous. I also used to think that having a coach or mentor was a total waste of time and was for people who had no self discipline. After all, let’s face it, how many regular people do you know that have a coach or mentor in any area of their life, right?

In fact, it wasn’t until I started teaching people how to invest in real estate that I started having students ask me about coaching and mentoring them. At first I was thinking, you want ME to mentor YOU? What can I do to make you do what it takes that you can’t do on your own, or get out of one of my courses yourself? But, the more I travelled around the country, the more people would ask me if I would be their real estate investing mentor.

I started doing some research into coaching programs, not only real estate, but other areas of life as well. I researched health coaches and what they do; I researched life coaches, business coaches, fitness coaches, spiritual coaches and more. Wow, I had no idea you could find a coach or mentor to help you with almost any area of your life!

Mentoring Success Stories

I couldn’t believe all of the success stories I would hear from people who had a coach. They would say things like:

  • “Having a coach, forces you to do what you know you need to do to become successful”.
  • “Having a coach keeps you accountable and on track every day”.
  • “My coach is much more than just a coach, they are my friend”.
  • “Having a coach is like having a business partner without having to split my profits”.

When I saw the successes and results I was told about from coaching students, I started talking to and interviewing real estate coaches, students of real estate mentoring programs and reviewing the programs themselves to see what works and what doesn’t.

It’s Not All Roses

There are a lot of programs available, and lets face it, most of them have a very bad reputation. On the internet you can read horror stories about good, hard working people who have invested thousands of dollars into some real estate guru’s coaching program, only to find out that they still haven’t purchased their first property. Not only that, but too many of the people providing the coaching don’t know or understand the strategies they are teaching. This is frustrating to the student who spent their hard earned money thinking that the coach was familiar with the teachings of the guru. This is not a good way to start off a coaching or mentoring relationship.

I’m not saying all real estate coaching programs are a bad investment at all. There are some that are bad, some that are good and a few that are great! All I am saying is that some are more interested in “selling” the coaching than “delivering” the coaching.

The Right Real Estate Investing Mentor

When you find the real estate investing mentor for you, you will literally be amazed at how easy and simple it can be to become a successful investor. See, a good mentor not only teaches you the mechanics of how to invest and help you in the areas you need help most, but they also hold you accountable to what you need to do to become successful. A good coach will pat you on the back when you need it and kick you in the butt when you need it, too. A good mentor also knows when you need each of the above.

A good coach is someone you build a relationship with over time and will give you assignments during each session so you have something to work toward and can see your progress. They share your successes and help you through your failures. That’s extremely important if you want to get the maximum results from your mentoring experience. A good mentor will lead you in the right direction based on what YOU want to do with your life.

Everyone has likes and dislikes in different areas of real estate. For example, I am a terrible landlord. I don’t like it and I am not good at it. When I started investing, my tenants had me trained to come to THEIR house to pick up MY rent. What a total waste of my time.

A good real estate investing mentor will ask probing questions to find out what you like and do not like about real estate. They will find out where you are both financially and personally in your life, and then where you want to be. They will then help you come up with a game plan for success and how to make the dream a reality. A good coach will bring out your strengths and help you with your weaknesses. They will help you see the big picture and then break it down into small manageable bites, so you can see your progress immediately.

Why I Became a Real Estate Investing Mentor

I decided that if I was going to become a real estate investing mentor I wanted to make sure that the students could learn directly from me and my personally trained team of investors.  People that work in my office in Lake Wylie, SC buying and selling houses on a daily basis. I also wanted a totally customizable program that would be able to teach any investor, any area of investing they desired, no matter what their experience level or area of interest in real estate was.  Let me tell you, this was a challenge.

We started what we call our Inner Circle Apprentice Program. We actually have several different programs, so that pretty much anyone can participate. We have:

  • In-House Phone Mentoring
  • Apprentice OJT (On the Job Training) Program
  • CBA (Complete Business Apprenticeship)
  • Real Estate Mastermind
  • Hometown Mentoring Program, where we will send a real estate investing mentor to your home or place of business to be your personal coach.

The absolute best thing about this is that no matter which program that you participate in, you are NOT working with some third party in Utah or any anywhere else. You are working directly with my team and me in my office.  Professional investors that buy and sell houses on a daily basis. In fact, you can even come to my office and spend three to five days with me and my team in Lake Wylie, SC. While you are here you will get on the phone and make offers yourself. Once you leave my office you will not wonder what to do when you get home. You just keep doing what you were doing while you were here. Is that great or what?

Now, I am sure you can imagine, that if my Inner Circle programs consists of working personally with me and my team, that we cannot work with everyone. There is only one of me and I only have a few people in my office buying and selling houses, so our time is limited. That is why we have a selection process to determine who we can work with. See, I want to make sure that the students we select to work with us personally will take it serious and take action, because we put a lot of time and effort into making you a successful investor.

I am happy to say we already have many many happily successful students who have been through our Inner Circle program, and are well on their way to a prosperous career investing in real estate. I get an emails every week from students who did their first deal, or their next deal, after going through our Inner Circle program. That’s an awesome feeling to know you contributed to someone’s success.

If you would like more information about having me as your real estate investing mentor, I ask you to visit this page on investor mentoring.  It’s just a short video telling you a little about who we are and what we do, but better yet, what we can do for you.  If you like it, you can schedule a talk with me or one of my senior business advisors.  They can start you on the path of deciding if working with us is right for you.  If it’s not, that is great and there is no obligation.  But if you are ready, willing, and able, we can help you buy your first house or your hundredth house.
