If you’re looking to save money, there are a lot of ways to do so.  Some require a large amount of effort for only a small amount of savings.  But what you’ll learn today will save you, on average, $500 every year.

Every day you probably see signs advertising someone running for a political office.  This could be local, regional, statewide, or even presidential election signs!  Here in the Carolinas, we just got finished with our primaries.  There are political advertisements all over the place.  Just about every corner has 6-7 signs.  And all of those signs equal savings for you!

When an election is over, generally speaking, its the responsibility of the candidate to retrieve all of those advertisements.  And that can be a quite a cost for the candidate, especially if they just lost!  But here’s where the savings come in.  After any election, you can call up the offices of the various candidates, and offer to take up their signs for free.  They will jump at the opportunity to get this task done with no cost to them.

Taking up all of these signs allows you to collect all of those sign stands.  Each one of those stands costs around $1.  Multiply that by all of the candidates, all of the elections, and all of the signs they put out.  If you really work at it, you can save over $1000 every year, just on advertising!  And while you’re out at all of these locations, make sure to put down a sign of your own.

There are very strict rules in regards to where political candidates can advertise.  Normally, they have to have permission to post on private property, or they can post signs on public property.  This means, if you see multiple political signs, you can probably put up a sign of your own.  But make sure to check for any local restrictions beforehand.

This little tip can save you a lot of money on your advertising, plus you can find new places to put up signage that you might have missed otherwise.  Be sure to keep checking in here, on FaceBook, Twitter, and YouTube for more helpful information.
